Girls Weekend

I can't believe how fast this weekend went!  I am sad it is late on Sunday night and I have to go back to work tomorrow...how did my house not get cleaned on my days off???

I actually had an amazing weekend!  Friday we started to get some yucky snow....and it just kept coming.  I was planning on heading to Worthington at Midnight to pick up the movie Eclipse but I did not want to get out in the snow and it was FREEZING!  Saturday Payton got up and headed to Jackson for gymnastics.  Mike dropped her off and then took the boys shopping for my Christmas presents and we also needed a new garage door opener.  I picked her up an then we started a fun girls weekend!  First we went out to lunch (Well, I ordered a salad and Payton had breakfast -- pancakes!).  Then we headed to Spirit Lake to get her hair and nails done.

After that we did a little shopping to pick up presents for the boys from her and she also picked out a gift for her daddy.  We got the stuff we needed to make a bunch of home-made candy and treats and were excited to get started.  We were supposed to go to the movie Tangled but she really wanted to get back and play outside since we had so much snow so we postponed our movie date for the next weekend.

When we got home she and Carson played outside and I ATTEMPTED to make candy.  The one thing I learned is that I will buy the .96 box of chocolate covered cherries next time versus the money, time and energy on the home made kind to only have them taste AWFUL!  I don't know how my Grandmas and Mom were such amazing cooks and bakers and I interited NONE of those skills!  :)

Today was an odd day...first, I was able to sleep in until 7:00.  That never happens!  Mike cooked breakfast and brought it in to me in bed which was another thing that doesn't happen often either...I could get used to those days!

I made a few more candies today and none of them turned out the way I wanted them to so I have officially given up!  Mike took Payton and Carson to the Catholic church hill to go sledding today.  They had a ton of fun!  We would have taken Aidan but it was in the single digits so I stayed home instead.  Mike took our camera and got some great shots...even of the wipe outs!

I took Payton to the Tangled movie tonight.  We went to the 7:20 show and were the only ones in the theater besides an older gentlemen that laughed hysterically through the entire movie...ODD!  We both LOVED the movie and got in a few chuckles ourselves.

Here are some cute pics of the kids sledding today:
