What a great weekend! Mike and I got in lots of quality time with the kids and really did some fun things!
I got off of work early on Friday and made it to watch Payton and Carson at swim lessons. All I can say is they have come a long way since last year! They both can swim (small distance) on their tummies and backs and have no problems sticking their heads under water. Last year Payton would cry if water even got splashed in her face! They did great and I was very proud of them! I took them back to daycare and came home to clean and catch up on laundry. I wanted the house stuff taken care of so we could run the rest of the weekend. I picked the kids up at daycare and came home and filled Aidan's kiddie pool and Mike filled our big pool for Payton and Carson. We spent the afternoon outside hanging out and playing in the water.
We got up on Saturday morning and Mike did some finishing touches in the bathroom while I straightened the house and got stuff ready to start the day. Payton and Carson were in the pool very early - even though it was SO cold! I had gotten some things to bake with Payton and Carson so we hung out in the kitchen for a while playing with that. We did some yardwork and I weeded the new landscaping. I love that it only takes a few minutes now!
Sunday we got up late and didn't make it to church. It felt amazing to be able to sleep in and not have to be up early. We headed to Okabena for the 4th of July parade. It was a pretty long parade. I can't believe the amount of candy we took home! HOLY COW! After the parade we headed to the park and the kids got to enjoy some yummy snacks and play a few games. We headed back home so the kids could nap before the fireworks.
Unfortunately we had some very sad news last week. One of my friends and former co-workers lost her 6 year old son to cancer. I went to the visitation on Sunday afternoon and it was so sad. He was such a brave little cowboy and put up an amazing fight.
About 9:30 we woke up all of the kids and headed back to Okabena. We found a place in the park and were VERY close to the fireworks. They were so good and Aidan was amazing! He did little jumps here and there but other than that he was silent and just watched. I know I have said it a thousand times but we are so blessed to have such a content baby! The kids were falling asleep on the way home and thankfully they were able to sleep in on Monday!
Monday we took all of the kids to the Lakefield pool. Payton and Carson have been going for swim lessons but it was Aidan's first trip. We had a cute little float for him and he loved it. At one time when I was pulling him around his eye lids got heavy and I thought he was going to fall asleep! We hung out for a few hours and headed back home for baths and to start getting ready for week to officially start!
