Mike and I had an amazing time in Mexico. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary a little early (should be May). We had a few flight delays on our way there but all was good when we landed! We had a couple of margaritas on the ride to the resort and that made everything better!
Our resort was amazingly beautiful! Everything about it was nice and it was ginormous (yes that is a word)!
We got up every morning and went for early walks on the beach. It was so pretty and so nice to be one of the only few people out there. We got to enjoy lots of sun and warm weather too which was absolutely crazy compared to our weather we left in Minnesota!
We took one morning and early afternoon and went snorkeling. It was so fun! We were taken out on a large catamaran and snorkeled by a large coral reef. The water was a little colder than I had hoped but was fine once you got used to it. We were taken to 2 different locations. We had a van pick us up near our resort and take us to the snorkeling place. We were with other couples and when chatting with them, found out they were from St. Joe, MO. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? There were 6 couples there together and they all lived in St. Joe. When they heard I had grown up in McFall, they asked if I knew Marilyn Willis, which I did! She was my Sunday School teacher as a kid! What a small world!
We got to do some shopping in Playa Del Carmen which was lots of fun (for me anyway)! I loved going into those little shops but Mike had enough of the shopping thing! We did get me a beautiful ring while we were there. It is an emerald and diamond ring and I love it! Emerald to represent May -- the actual month of our wedding.
Although our trip was amazing, I was so glad to be home and see our kids. We do not ever leave them so it was very hard and very sad in the end. I wanted to wake them when we finally got home but I waited until the morning and got lots of snuggles in!
