Wrestling, Washington DC, Dance Recital and Soccer

Well, this will be a lengthy post since I haven’t posted anything in quite a while!

State Wrestling:

Our wrestling season ended when we traveled to Rochester, MN at the beginning of March for State Wrestling. Carson did not place but we were very proud of him and his wrestling. He did really well and it was a great experience for him. We stayed Friday night through Sunday afternoon and watched our friends’ son wrestle. He did amazing and brought home the 4th place medal!

Washington DC

At the end of March Mike and I and all three kids flew to Washington DC for 5 days. It was an AMAZING trip! We got to see so many different things and all the kids did fantastic. Aidan was a trooper the whole trip. We could not have asked for a better baby. Basically, as long as he was fed and changed he was happy to be pushed in the stroller all day. Some of the things we toured / got to see were: Natural History Museum, Washington Monument, Lincoln Monument, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial, The White House, the Capitol, Air and Space Museum, American Indian Museum, Botanical Gardens, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Children’s science Museum, American History Museum and the Cherry blossoms!

As you can see, we did everything and anything that we could! One of the best times we had was flying kites. On our last day, we were all tired from walking so much so we went into one of the Smithsonian Museums and bought 2 kites and then flew them on the mall area between the Washington Monument and the Capitol building. It was a gorgeous day and beautiful scenery! When we got back I put together little photo albums for Payton and Carson to take to school and share with their class.

Easter

We had a low key Easter Sunday by staying in Minnesota. We flew home from DC on a Thursday and Easter was that Sunday. We have traveled more this year and we have in the past 3 years combined! We had fun the night before coloring Easter Eggs and decorating them with sequins and glitter. We literally had glitter EVERYWHERE but we had so much fun and our eggs looked fabulous!

Dance Recital

Our most recent “adventure” was this year’s dance recital for Payton. We have had a crazy week! We started out by practicing on the big stage on Tuesday night, we had full dress rehearsal on Wednesday night. This is the only night that video and photos can be taken. Mike stayed home with the boys and I took Payton in. The recital actually started on Thursday and continued on Friday and Saturday night. Like I said, LONG WEEK! I am always so amazed at what those little dancers can do! I am always proud of Payton and cry every year! She is a good little dancer!

Soccer

Saturday morning (yes, the same Saturday as dance) we started our Soccer season. Payton played this weekend and then next weekend by herself and then the beginning of May both she and Carson will play every Saturday. Carson is in kinderkickers this year. It is so cute watching that age group play! When Soccer is over we will start summer gymnastics. That will go through July which will bring us to Aidan’s one year birthday and then school will be starting again just around the corner!

WHEW!

Well, that is a fast version of catch up for us here! Here are some pictures of our recent trips / recitals/ competitions and fun stuff!
