Summer has Arrived!

It is hard to believe that the kids have been out of school for a month now.  Our summer schedule is very crazy so it is flying by!!

June has been insane!  The first week of June Carson had a week long basketball camp and loved it!  Basketball was my favorite sport in school so I am hoping one of my kids decides to play!  Mike's sister and her two boys also came up and stayed with us for a few days.  They were staying in IA with his parents visiting form Corpus Christi TX.  We took the kids out in the boat and Payton and Carson both stood on the zip sled.  We were so excited!!  Last year they both got up on their knees but that was all the farther they would go!  The kids had fun hanging out and playing with their cousins and were sad to see them go.

The next week it was Payton's turn for basketball camp.  She also loved it! I got to sneak over one day and watch her at camp.  She was so tiny next to some of the older girls!  She did great though and I had so much fun watching!

The kids have also started swim lessons.  We have had such crazy weather lately with cool temps and rain so they have not been able to go every day.  I did get to watch them one day and they practiced jumping off the diving board.  they both did it with someone in the water to catch them.  I know they can do it on their own but they get so nervous!!

Next week Payton will have volleyball camp and she can hardly wait!  The volleyball coach is the same teacher she had for 2nd grade (Mrs. Van Epps) and she loves, loves, loves her!

Payton is in gymnastics every Thursday evening and Carson plays soft toss baseball on Monday and Wednesday nights.  Throw in my golf night on Wednesday nights and Mike's on Thursdays and you can see how full our calendars are!

Last weekend we had a wedding to go to in Spirit Lake.  Mike's boss's daughter got married so we headed down to the reception.  We took our kids and they had a blast!  I could not control my laughter watching Aidan on the dance floor.  he loves music and he gets so excited when he dances.  He can't make up what dance move he wants to do so he does a mixture of all of them at the same time!  We didn't leave until 11:30 and he was still up and going strong!  We stayed at a hotel and went swimming the next morning.  It was also Father's Day so we headed back home and the kids gave Mike the gifts they had made for him at school.  We were all still tired from the night before so we all got to take naps!  Aidan slept for four hours!!

We are in the process of planning Aidan's second birthday party.  It is hard to believe he will be 2....part of it is hard because he is growing so fast and I feel like I am not keeping up....the other part is that we know he is our last baby and it is so hard to accept that we will not have the baby experiences again.  It makes me want to hold on to all of these moments and slow them down...which is impossible!

Aidan's vocabulary is getting bigger every day.  He really repeats a lot of what we say but you can't understand him that well.  He has really started giving out kisses which I love....can't get enough of those!

We took Payton and Carson to the dentist on Monday.  I was so proud b/c neither of them had every had a cavity.  It was a rough appointment!  Carson found out he had a few cavities and needed fillings.  Payton ended up having to have 3 teeth pulled due to crowding and her new teeth not having room to come in.  Payton was a trooper...never even needed tylenol!  She was super stoked when the tooth fairy came and left her money but didn't take her teeth.  Mike and I took Carson back today for his fillings.  He was a little nervous but did really well... He and I went for ice cream after so he was excited!

That catches us up from the past few weeks!  I hope you are all enjoying your summer!!
