What a crazy weekend it has been! The fun started on Friday. I originally had the day off because I had a dental appointment but ended up changing it at the last minute because Carson's class was going on a field trip to the apple orchard. We met at the elementary school around 9:00 and walked to the apple orchard. We divided into 4 groups. One group would tour the orchard and the other 3 groups took turns playing with a parachute, playing bingo, and participating in race games. After all groups completed the tour, we headed back to the school for a drink and snack. Then, we walked to the city park where the kids got to play and then have lunch and then play some more! Carson chose to play in a kick ball game and had a blast! We walked back to the school around 1:30. I left and picked Aidan up and daycare then headed back to school to pick up Payton. Carson had a birthday party at the bowling alley right after school so we headed there to pick him up around 5:00.
We woke up on Saturday morning and Mike headed into work. I took the kids to Jackson for Carson's football game which started at 9:00. I had to leave and drop Payton off at gymnastics at 10:00 and then returned to Carson's game. He was done at 10:30 so he and Aidan and I headed back to gymnastics to wait for Payton to be done at 11:30. All of the kids were ready for naps when we got home so I took advantage and made meals that could be frozen. This is so handy when we really start getting busy! I was able to freeze 8 hot dishes and 4 meat loaves. It is a lot of work but well worth it!
Carson had a friend over on Saturday afternoon so that kept the boys busy and Payton helped me around the kitchen. Saturday night Mike took all of us out to dinner to the Horse Barn Hunt Club. We had an amazing dinner! All of the kids were very well behaved and several people commented how good they were.
I was actually able to sleep in until 7:30 on Sunday. I can't remember the last time that has happened! We cleaned the house, did laundry, took the kids into Sunday School and finished some of my freezer meals. This afternoon I ran Payton back to Jackson for Volleyball. She is in a volleyball clinic for a month and they practice on Sunday afternoons. It is so cute to watch them and she has a blast!
After Volleyball I came back home and cooked one of the meals I had made. Aidan liked it the best! probably because there was noodles in it and he is a carbo-holic! :) The kids worked on homework, I filled out book orders and we had good night stories. Now, everyone is in bed and I am relaxing and enjoying the quiet before I head there myself!
