Mexico!!

Mike surprised me this week -- which is pretty hard to do!  This May we will celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary.  I had wanted to take a trip somewhere but we weren't sure yet if we wanted to go alone or take our kids and had no idea where to go.  Mike surprised me with a trip to Mexico!  We will be going next month and I am so excited!  Especially considering the weather we are having now!  I can't wait to be on a beach soaking up the sun and getting out of the snow!  Lee and Diane will come to our house and watch our kids for us.  I am not sure how it will go without my baby boy for 5 days.  He changes so much so quickly....that is the only negative thing about our trip.  I will miss him terribly (my other kids too but it is different when it is a baby!)  Anyway, bonus points for Mike!  My passport is still good but Mike had to have his renewed.  It expired the week before we leave!  How funny is that???

Wow! What crazy weather this new year is bringing us! We have new snow and strong winds. Roads are closed all around us. I stayed home from work today and school was cancelled for the kids. It has been a good day of cleaning (for me) and playing the wii (for the kids). Payton has done a lot of reading as well!

Aidan had big news last week!  He turned 5 months old AND got his 1st 2 teeth.  He has really been messing with his tongue lately and I am guessing that is why!  I had no idea he was even trying to cut teeth and was so shocked when I saw them.  He looks pretty cute too!  He is still sleeping more than a 5 month old should be allowed!  He goes to bed between 4-5 at night and gets up around 5 or 6 in the morning.  I am not sure what we did to deserve such a good baby but we have truly been blessed!

We celebrated Christmas last weekend with the Rickey family. We had a full car load on our way home! So many presents!! Of course the kids have enjoyed their new things and are trying to make room in their rooms without getting rid of any of their older things!

On our way home from Ames we stopped in Radcliffe and visited the Miles family!  Carson LOVES playing with "Seff" (seth).  Before we knew it a few hours had passed and we had to head home.  We can't wait to see them again -- soom!

The kids went back to school on Monday.  I could tell they were dragging trying to get used to going back.  Now with the snow day I let them stay in jammies all day.  No need to put clothes on if we are just lounging at home!

We are preparing for wrestling tournaments this weekend and also a gymnastics performance on Sunday!  This will end Payton's 4th year of gymnastics which is so hard to believe.  She has really been practicing hard on her routines and I can't wait to watch her!  Hopefully the weather will cooperate so we can still have it!
